Christoph Eberhard is a scholar who is specialized in questions of intercultural dialogue. As a legal anthropologist, he has written and directed numerous books in French and in English on Law, globalization, human rights, governance, sustainable development and responsibility in the intercultural dialogue. His research also tackles the questions of dialogue between different knowledge systems and traditions. He teaches on these topics in various academic institutions.

The basis of his intercultural approach can be found in his book "Droits de l'homme et dialogue interculturel" ("Human Rights and Intercultural Dialogue"). Published first in 2002, and in a second enlarged edition in 2011, this book was drawn from his Ph.D. thesis in anthropology of Law presented in 2000 at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

All his subsequent individual and collective work is rooted in the dialogical approach exposed in this first book and deepens and explores the various aspects of the pluralism and interculturalism of our lives.

His approach can be summarized in his saying: "Life is not a void to be filled. It is a plenitude to be discovered."
