In a village torn between tradition modernity, an old man is made marabout after his death. A sanctuary is to be constructed on the lands of a farmer, Bouazza, who protests against it. He is also concerned about the construction on his lands of a mausoleum and the one of an new a highway. As he opposes, the village goes through an exceptional drought and everyone holds Bouazza responsible. Finally, it all goes back to normal: men work, emigrate, or cultivate soils now thriving; except for Bouazza, who becomes landless and decides to pack and leave.
Zeft is a feature film directed by Tayed Saddiki in 1984. It is an adaptation of his own play, Sidi Yassin Fi Tariq.
