It's the end of the 19th century. Coming from an aristocratic family, Isabelle Eberhardt spends her childhood in Geneva, where her father emigrates because of his opposition to the tsarist regime. When she is twenty years old, she decides, with her mother, to move to Algeria, under French occupation. The path this young woman will take, dressed as a man, converted to the mystique of the Zaouias, will cross that of an oppressed, uprooted people forced to wander. Individual and collective destiny merge into a search for the love of truth and freedom.
