The people of the neighbourhood find a newborn baby outside the mosque. They find out she is a girl wearing rich clothes. Hag Morsi takes her home to raise her with his own daughter Saneya and calls her Neanat. But Hag Morsi dies, closely followed by his wife. The two girls earn a living by embroidering handkerchiefs. Neanat loses her sight. Saneya decides to take her to a famous doctor in Cairo. But Saneya gets on the wrong train and the two girls are separated before being reunited later.
